Okanagan Valley EH! Apex Mountain Located near: Penticton, Okanagan Valley, B.C.

Apex Mountain, near Penticton British Columbia, in the Okanagan Valley is a smaller winter and summer mountain destination attractive to visitors who come to explore the mountain to ski, bike, hike, skidoo and snowshoe on a smaller scale with less crowds. The winter season on Apex Mountain receives an average snowfall of 19 ft transforming the mountain into a playground for skiers and snow boarders to take advantage of the Okanagan powder. There are 1112 acres of snow covered alpines.

Apex Mountain ski runs have a 2000 vertical drop with 16% of the terrain groomed for beginners, 48% for intermediate skiers and 36% for the expert adrenaline skier totalling 67 ski runs serviced by 5 ski lifts ( one being a high speed quad chair lift).

After a day hiking the summer trails or skiing the Okanagan powder snow on Apex Mountain there is a small village located at the base of the mountain where many of the comforting amenities, accommodations and shops are located. The village has an Adventure Centre with a ski and snowboard school, a kids club, cafe and reservation desk for all activities at the base of Apex Mountain.

Accommodations on Apex Mountain are convenient that one can ski to the door in many cases. The 3 main accommodations can be limited in peak ski season as they are very popular. Two have been rated by Ski Canada Magazine as "Best New Lodges". For the backpacking snow addicts on a budget there is the a Hostel located on the mountain. Night time has its share of venues and entertainment on Apex Mountain with people gathering at the local popular restaurant and saloon.
