Big White Mountain is located near Kelowna, British Columbia, on the northern section of the Okanagan Valley. It is a full service accommodation resort, high octane ski mountain with many exciting alternatives for the avid skier and snow boarder. Big white Mountain in the winter season becomes a ski destination for many visitors who want to experience good Okanagan powder snow for a long time. This popular ski hill is a destination for many families because of the selection of kid activities, an easily available ski school, the children events and the amount of accommodations - many are ski in ski out. Big White has over 118 designated ski trails and some 27 unnamed ski runs. The vertical drop is 777 m (2550 ft). Big White consists of allot of powder snow as it covers over about 4500 ha (11,000 acres) with ski trails running into the alpine and glades. So many adventures. The Big White ski runs are tailored a bit more for the intermediate skier and up - as only 18% of the runs are "Green Runs" designed for beginners and 54% for the Intermediate while 22% for expert. There is also 6% left for , what they call, "Extreme". The whole system of ski runs is serviced by 15 ski lifts including a Gondola. There is a snow board park with rails, pipes and a 1/2 pipe.
The Accommodation situation is one of the best of all B.C. ski hills. There is a good selection of vacation homes, cottages, condos, town houses, 3 hotels and 1 youth hostel. But, like all ski hills in British Columbia, the accommodation numbers decline quickly as demand grows in the winter and spring ski season. The number of accommodations plays a bigger role, partly because, Big White also has night skiing of 1600 vertical feet keeping the lights on for the avid skiers and snow boarders longer.
Big White Ski Resort also offers helicopter ski tours and snowmobile tours to groups. The resort is a joy to ski as you spend more time on the snow then on the lifts. This is a good thing. Located near: Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, B.C

The Big White Village is a large resort with a well planned selection of amenities. Listen to this - spread out through the ski resort is 17 restaurants, some ski rental shops, gift stores and 8 bars and lounges. There is a skating rink and, a popular choice with the kids, the Adventure Park with the tube ride and the snowmobiles.
