Okanagan Valley EH! Silver Star Mountain Located near: Kelowna, British Columbia

Silver Star Mountain, near Kelowna and Vernon, British Columbia, in the Okanagan Valley is a historical ski and snowbaord experience into the past. The pastel color buildings at the bottom of the mountain are decorated with history reminiscent of the days of the ninteenth century. The village shops, restaurants, lounges and coffee bars are connected by a boardwalk for safe passage to and from the many accommodations, shops and activities.

Silver Star Ski Mountain covers over 1100 hectres of fun with usually a minimum of 23 feet of snow cover. From the top of the ski mountain the vertical drop is over 2500 ft. There are a total of 10 chair lifts. The largest six passenger chair lift, the Comet Express rushes you to the top of the mountain enjoying beautiful views of the Monashee Mountains. There are 60+ runs serviced by the lifts including the Powder Gulch Quad leading to Putnam creek and many "Black Diamond Runs". Cross Country skiers will love Silver Star for the over 60 kilometres of cross country snow trails through the forests. Snow Boarders come to enjoy the new terrain park to try out there latest tricks.

Silver Star Mountain Resort is a mecca of activity for families. On the ski mountain there is the Adventure Park where laughs and smiles are very common as the children speed downhill on inner tubes or ride a snowmobile under controlled conditions at the Mini-Z track or spend a day playing hockey on the outdoor skating rink.

For the romantic couple or for a different mountain experience, other than skiing, there is the sleigh rides, a guided snowshoe tour, an indoor climbing wall at the Altitude Training Centre where there is also a Day Spa, fitness centre and a 180 seat auditorium for wekkly events and entertainment.

Accommodations on the ski hill are plenty, but do not be fooled because in peak season vacancy rates are very low as many come to Silver Star to experience a BC winter getaway.
