Okanagan
Falls, BC, Canada
Okanagan Falls,
British Columbia is a small lakefront village
community located off the main highway, southeast of Penticton,
on the shores of Skaha Lake away from the big city sights and
sounds. The community, often referred to as "OK Falls",
has always been known as a great destination to go for a picnic,
some beach relaxation, rock climbing or for some lake and camping
activities.
Okanagan Falls wineries
are well known to many in the wine tasting circles. The hills
and valleys of the region are home to many local wineries and
accommodations. The small community has most of the main amenities
available for travelers like gas stations, ATMs and grocery stores.

Immediately south of Okanagan Falls
is Vaseux
Lake. This is an area of desert climate transition
and bold geological landscape. The lake is one of the top locations
in the world for bird watching due to the nature of the surrounding
bio-diversity. OK Falls is the northern gateway to Canada’s
pocket desert, the most northern point of the Sonora. |

There are enough Provincial Parks,
Forest Service (FSR) Roads, mountain lakes, and recreational
services to satisfy all who visit the area around Okanagan
Falls. Skaha Lake is perfect for power boating, canoeing,
kayaking, windsurfing and kiteboarding.
The
Kettle Valley Trail – Trail takes hikers,
horseback riders, and bikes across a piece of the lake upon
an old pile trestle, directly into Okanagan Falls. The Old Kaleden
Rd. is a scenic way to explore from Okanagan Falls to the quaint
nearby village of Kaleden, BC, Canada. Green Lake Rd. climbs
up past vineyards and small lakes to the Community of Willowbrook,
BC and a visit to the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory.
For a popular bike road ride, follow
the Oliver Ranch Rd. from downtown Okanagan Falls to the Vaseux
Lake Wildlife Centre, passing by several superb wineries en
route. Mt.
Baldy & Apex
Mountain Ski Resorts are an hour away. Two airports,
located in Penticton and Oliver are both a half hour drive.
