Careful! If you blink – you may miss out and pass right by one of Naramata’s best kept secrets, so secret that many of the locals have yet to discover it. Creek Park is located at the junction of Naramata Rd. and Robinson Ave., bringing you quickly into the heart of town. Many bike to the park and some even walk - imagine that.
The park is a beautifully shaded area dotted with strategically placed picnic tables and a winding trail that curves around tall old growth forests, takes you over wooden bridges and leads you to some interesting geological formations along Naramata Creek. Creek Park in Naramata is both a trail and a gathering place for a little break time.
Parking is plentiful and well laid out so that larger vehicles are able to turn around. Public bathrooms are available and well maintained. Once you leave your car and cross the creek bridge you will be toadally amazed at how much there is to discover here. The rock formations, the wildlife and the sounds of nature are well worth the trip.
Visitors are reminded that these pristine areas of the Okanagan are also a natural habitat for many fascinating yet misunderstood critters like bears, cougars, ticks, and rattle snakes. Stay on the trails and be prepared for your adventure with proper clothes and supplies. Do not forget the water eh.
