Osoyoos, BC and surrounding communities
Osoyoos, BC is a popular motorcycle destination community. The USA Canadian border community is an ideal Okanagan stopping point on any cycle tour acting as a base camp before exploring any of the half day to full day touring circle routes exploring the rest of the Okanagan Valley, BC by road. The Community of Osoyoos, BC is located in the extreme southern portion of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley (referred to as the "Okanogan" by our American neighbours). Highway 97 runs through here from the Canada – U.S. boarder and up through the Okanagan Valley.
Another highly travelled motorcycle roadway located near Osoyoos is BC’s Crowsnest Highway #3 which leads in and out of the area taking travellers as far east as the Canadian Province of Alberta or west towards Vancouver Island and the Pacific Ocean. From Osoyoos there are many motorcycle circle routes.
One route takes you west out of Osoyoos along Highway #3 exploring over the Richter Pass into the Similkameen Valley. Continue cruising north to Keremeos continuing north-west on Highway #3A to Penticton and Okanagan Falls. Back to Osoyoos is 45 minutes travelling south. Another day exploring from Osoyoos is exploring eastbound through Bridesville on to Rock Creek then head north on Highway #33 through the Kettle River Valley up all the way to Kelowna and then back south on Highway 97 through Summerland and Okanagan Falls to Osoyoos.
Motorcyclist can explore south of the Canadian border also from Osoyoos in the Okanogan Valley. The motorcycle tour into the United States goes west along the corridors visiting the community of Nighthawk, USA and then back up into Canada via the Similkameen Valley or travel east to the boarder crossing at Midway, BC.

Weather and road conditions for riding around Osoyoos and the South Okanagan Valley are usually good to superb year-round. As this is Canada’s only true desert area (northern tip of the Sonora Desert), precipitation is minimal and clear skies are typical.
